Sushil Aryal is a distinguished Nepali journalist, editor, and media strategist with over two decades of experience shaping the news landscape in Nepal. Widely recognized for his commitment to ethical journalism and impactful storytelling, he currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of News Polar. Throughout his career, he has guided major national newsrooms through evolving media landscapes, ensuring that the public receives accurate, timely, and deeply researched information.
Before his current role at News Polar, Aryal spent nearly a decade at NEWS24 NEPAL, one of the country’s premium television networks, where he held critical leadership positions including Editor-in-Chief, News Director, and News Coordinator. His roots in broadcasting began even earlier at Radio Sagarmatha—South Asia’s first community radio station—where he worked as a reporter, producer, and presenter.
This diverse background in radio, television, and digital media has given him a comprehensive understanding of how to connect with audiences across various platforms. Beyond daily news reporting, Aryal is a passionate advocate for media accountability, legal transparency, and press freedom. He is a founder and key member of several vital organizations, including the Research and Media Centre Against Corruption (REMAC Nepal), the Journalist Society of Law, and the Journalist Society of Parliamentary Affairs. His lifelong dedication to independent and courageous journalism has earned him the prestigious Outstanding Journalism Award, cementing his legacy as a trusted voice and mentor in Nepali media.
