About

I’m Sushil Aryal, a Nepali journalist, editor, and media strategist. Over two decades, I’ve helped shape the news landscape in Nepal. Today, I serve as Editor-in-Chief of News Polar. Along the way, I’ve guided major national newsrooms through evolving media landscapes. The goal never changes: make sure the public gets accurate, timely, deeply researched information.

Before News Polar, I spent nearly a decade at NEWS24 NEPAL, one of the country’s premier television networks. I rose through the ranks there—Editor-in-Chief, then News Director, then News Coordinator. But my roots go back further. I got my start at Radio Sagarmatha, South Asia’s first community radio station, working as a reporter and, later, a producer and presenter.

Radio. Television. Digital media. I’ve worked across all three, and that mix taught me how to reach audiences wherever they are. My work doesn’t stop at daily reporting, though. I care deeply about media accountability and press freedom, and legal transparency runs through both. That’s why I helped found REMAC Nepal—the Research and Media Centre Against Corruption—along with the Journalist Society of Law. I’ve also been part of building the Journalist Society of Parliamentary Affairs.

Courageous journalism has defined my career. It earned me the Outstanding Journalism Award. And it’s why, today, I’m proud to be a trusted voice and mentor in Nepali media.

“ Stories become powerful when they carry truth, emotion, and purpose.”
